Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President of Technical Delivery to lead our delivery teams who specialize in software, digital mapping, and logistical onsite hardware deployments. This role is critical in ensuring the successful implementation of our software, hardware, and mapping solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, strategic planning, and team leadership, with a passion for technology and customer success. 


Core Responsibilities
 

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of delivery specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Support project management organization in delivering quality solutions to our clients.
    • Ensure alignment of team goals with organizational objectives and client needs.
    • Work closely with the VP of Customer Success to strategize the scalability of the delivery team
  • Technical Delivery Support:
    • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of software, hardware, and mapping deployments, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Work collaboratively with delivery and project leads to implement delivery methodologies and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, keeping in mind both the aspects of software delivery as well as the logistical aspects of hardware supply chain demand and onsite installations.
  • Strategic Resource and Capacity Planning:
    • Create and implement a tactical planning methodology across the delivery teams that measures capacity, availability, and resource allocation. This individual will own the overall timeline for all delivery activity. Be able to assess and predict risk within the overall timeline, and produce measurable analytics in which to refine capacity planning. 
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership and team leads throughout the organization.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for delivery metrics, development requirements and status, risks and resolutions, ensuring clear communication throughout the delivery lifecycle.
    • Be adept at leadership reporting and be able to manage upwards as well as downwards.
  • Performance Metrics:
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure delivery success and team performance, rolling up into impactful OKR’s for the entire team.
    • Utilize data-driven insights to drive continuous improvement and optimize resource allocation.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure delivery success.
    • Facilitate regular risk assessment meetings and maintain proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Technical Acumen
    • Strong solution-building background across front and backend technologies including mobile, web, SDLC with an ability to look at the bigger picture of functionality while keeping individual customer requests in mind. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering/Development fields, Math or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in technical program or project management, and/or leading a technical delivery team.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall), planning methodologies (Agile, CPM, Lean, PERT) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project). Agile Coach experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interface with enterprise-level client stakeholders to guide strong delivery results in accordance with client success metrics a plus
  • Logistical onsite planning for manual labor and/or supply chain management a plus
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
